Depth oriented therapy to help you get out of your own way
Individual Psychotherapy
I provide a safe, supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings on a deeper level. My work with clients is informed by a blend of therapeutic approaches, drawing on several methods tailored to each individual’s needs. With my background in psychodynamic therapy, I’m able to help you uncover relational and interpersonal patterns that may be holding you back in life. I also draw on other approaches, including Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, so we can address your unique concerns with a flexible and effective approach. Together, we’ll explore the deeper reasons behind your struggles, looking beyond surface-level issues to foster true growth.
What to Expect in Individual Therapy
In individual therapy, we’ll explore how past experiences, relationships, and inner conflicts influence your present life. This process isn’t about quick fixes; rather, it’s about understanding and working through anything that’s holding you back. I’m here to guide you in that process, helping you develop a richer understanding of your emotional world.
Why Explore Patterns?
Therapy offers a way to understand why certain patterns may continue in your life, even when they aren’t helpful. We may look at:
- How past relationships, including family dynamics, have shaped you.
- The narrative you hold about yourself and how to reframe it.
- Unconscious patterns—those things we do or feel that may not immediately make sense but keep repeating in our lives.
Our experiences and relationships shape us profoundly. By exploring these roots, you can gain valuable insight, foster lasting change, and discover a more authentic way of being.
Building Trust in Therapy
I know that starting therapy can sometimes feel intimidating, and I’m committed to creating an environment where you feel safe and supported. I am warm, interactive, honest, and straightforward. I am not just going to sit back and nod my head and tell you that your mother is to blame for all your problems. I will challenge you. I will help you dig deep to understand yourself, and I will not just be a spectator in this process. Trust is one of the most important (and healing) parts of coming to therapy, and I strive to create an environment where you feel safe and supported to look at your stuff.
If you’re ready for a meaningful exploration of yourself and want support navigating life’s challenges, I’d love to help. Reach out to schedule a consultation or to learn more about how we can work together.
